Ann Curry
Ann Curry has worked as an journalist for over 45 years. Her focus is on natural disasters, as well as conflict zones. In 1978 she graduated at her school at the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. As a child, she was exposed to diverse cultures. Curry did not have the opportunity to attend one school in San Diego, Alameda Oregon, or Virginia during the two-year period due to her family relocated frequently. Curry graduated in Ashland the high school. As an intern at KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregon, she started her career in the field of broadcasting. She became the first female news reporter at the station, when she was just 22. In Portland the state of Oregon, she was made an anchor and reporter by KGW the NBC affiliate. After four years, she relocated into Los Angeles and became a journalist at KCBS TV. It was during her association with the station for six years that she received the two Emmy Awards.
